1. What We Collect
Nothing. FormGenie does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
2. How FormGenie Works
When you use FormGenie to fill a form:
- The extension reads the form fields on the current page locally in your browser
- It sends the form field labels and your instructions to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- The AI returns suggested values, which the extension inserts into the form fields
All communication happens directly between your browser and your chosen AI provider using the API key you provide. FormGenie has no servers, no database, and no backend.
3. What You Control
- Your API Key — stored locally in Chrome storage. Only used to authenticate requests to your chosen AI provider. Never transmitted to us.
- Your Profile — optional information you configure in Settings (name, email, etc.). Stored locally and only used to fill forms when you instruct the extension to do so.
- Your Settings — provider choice, language preference. All stored locally.
4. Permissions Explained
FormGenie requests the following Chrome permissions for specific purposes only:
- storage — to save your settings and profile locally
- activeTab — to detect and fill form fields on the current page when you click the extension
- Content script on all URLs — so the extension can work on any website with forms
5. IP Detection
If a form field asks for an IP address, FormGenie may call a public IP echo service (e.g., ipify.org) to determine your public IP. This request is made locally from your browser and does not share any personal information.
6. Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, or rent any user data to third parties. We have no data to share.
